“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas..” sang Rohan and Ishan De Lanerolle starting off their Christmas concert on Monday, 2nd December 2013 at the ballroom of Waters’ Edge.

A nip in the air and the Brothers apologized that they were unable to hold the concert under the stars as promised due to the inclement weather.  Rohan said that they also had to be excused as they had to fit everyone in and called it 'the scrambled egg situation'!

“You’d better watch out… ‘cause Santa Claus is coming to town” they chorused and then they followed the carol with “White Christmas”.
People come to watch and listen to the De Lanerolle brothers partly because of their harmony as evidenced in “Away in a Manger” and the children’s carol;
“Please, Lord Jesus, I ask thee to stay by me forever and take me to Heaven…”

This was followed by; “Go Tell it on the Mountains, over the hills and everywhere, that Jesus Christ is born.”

The screen in the background of the stage showed colourful scenes of Christmas, like the reindeer with their antlers moving to the music.
The Brothers then sang “Jingle Bells” with the audience clapping to the catchy tune.  This was followed by “Jingle Around the Clock”.  The screen then showed huge Silver Bells while the Brothers sang “Silver Bells”.

“Christmas is all about the family and we feel that you are all our family.”Rohan told the responsive audience as he sang “Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, you’ll go down in history.”

They then sang their favourite “The Prayer” followed by “Christmas time, Mistletoe and Wine, a time for giving, christmas is love, a time for peace.”

Rohan’s little son Yohan then sang “A time to rejoice”

Ishan then struck a somber note with “Blue Christmas” as he sang, “Christmas won’t be the same, dear, If you’re not here with me…”

The show ended with “Long time ago in Bethlehem” and then the lights dimmed for “Silent Night” followed by “Come all ye faithful”, “When a Child is born” and “O Holy Night”.  The Brothers then wished everyone “Feliz Navidad”.

The De Lanerolle Brothers will host a concert in aid of charity (for the Joseph Vaz Trust) at ‘Nelum Pokuna’ theatre on 14th December 2013.
