Review : DAZZLE IN A SINGING STYLE – CANTABILE SCHOOL OF SINGING

The Cantabile School Of singing was founded in 2004 by Prashilini Peiris with just 5 students. The school now has fabulously talented singers and dancers who put together this fantastic show.

On the 27th of September the Cantabile School of Singing had a dazzling show which kept the entire audience tapping their toes. The age groups varied from juniors to the intermediate and senior choir. The repertoire of songs included many Broadway, Disney movie and well known songs. The show included songs from, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, The Lion King and the very popular ‘Happy’ by Pharell Williams. The simply talented female choral group, ‘Asteria’ directed by Mahen Peiris made a guest performance at Dazzle. The show was choreographed by Ashanthi Colombage and Keshia Kumaresan.

Romiesh Dias commented that the show was “Refreshingly Fantastic”, Rita Fernando said that “it was so nice to hear songs from her era” and finally Rebecca De Andrado said that “there was so much liveliness and pure talent from the young kids”. These positive comments were made by a very satisfied audience. There were quite a few comments hoping that there would be a repeat performance and disappointment that it was only on one day.

It was a showcase of pure talent, colorfulness and live energy from each and every performance. Dazzle in a singing style was a refreshing appealing to all ages; and it was a truly family oriented musical dazzling show.
