Couture exhibition in celebration of French Spring Festival Sri Lanka 

Creative silhouettes, unique luxury elegance, haute couture and exclusive creations inspired by designers such as Coco Chanel, Valentino, Alexander McQueen made an appealing call for all guests to catch a glimpse of the couture exhibition which will be open till July 3 at LIFT.
The exhibition also featured selection portfolios and photographs giving visitors a behind-the-scenes experience in to the making of a couture dress from initial design to final production.

While enjoying their collections a bunch of excited designers did not forget to share their experiences with the Daily Mirror Life:

Kasunika, Sasheni, Nishani, Kithmi, Sashini, Thevini and Pamudi

“We made use of brands such as Prada, Valentino, Chanel and Old Navy. Our main focus was on long evening dresses. We made use of fabrics, net, mesh, laser and bead work, embroidery, prints, bridal satin and tweed. We worked according to a brand by first studying it and then adding in our creations.”

A group of final year students at LIFT had had the privilege of going to Paris and visiting museums and workshops of international and world renowned designers. This is what they had to say:

“It was a first time for all of us. The best thing was that we went as a group. We got a chance to visit museums of designners such as YSL and also their 18th century workshops, giving an insight to how they came up with their designs etc. We also visited the Eiffel Tower and had a great and exciting visit altogether.”
