Nuwara Eliya is such an amazing place to spend a good “chilled out” vacation at simply because of the cool climate. Nestled in the hills in a relatively quiet area is Cocoon Hills, another property in Nuwara Eliya managed by Cocoon Resorts which prides itself in keeping with their motto “Reality of Life”.

Cocoon Hills offers an extremely homely atmosphere to its guests and to be quite honest with you it looked like my best friend’s house which made me feel quite at home. As I walked into the spacious living room, I was greeted with a hot cup of coffee by the property’s manager who was quite friendly, cheerful and was keen on attending to my every need.

Commenting on the rooms they are not huge but not small either which makes them just the right amount of space because clearly you wouldn’t want to spend the entire of your holiday in such an amazing city in room right? The Colonial Bungalow has 6 rooms including one family suite which consists of all the commodities of a house.

There are quite a few things one can do to make your stay more pleasurable, the property is just a few minutes from all main attractions in Nuwara Eliya Including the Golf course for those who would like to enjoy a game. Another excursion would be Horton Plains and World’s End which is about a 45 minute drive from Nuwara Eliya.

Having had the experience of staying at both properties managed by Cocoon in Nuwara Eliya I had the chance to experience some of the best food I have ever tasted in Sri Lanka. The rice and curry is to die for and even the breakfast served is definitely top notch. I was told that one has the opportunity to request for a BBQ which the chef is really good at.

The Cocoon Hills experience is truly a home away from home experience and is definitely your place to go to if you need a break from the concrete jungle!
