In my mission to locate the most desirable holiday villas in Sri Lanka, I found ‘Apsara Villa’, a tranquil little place tucked away just an hour and a half from Colombo. The villa is located in a small riverside village called Seeni Watta, just minutes from the Bentota beach.

Arriving at Apsara is a breathtaking, unique-in-the-country experience. The elegant villa by the glistening Benthara River seems magically suspended in space. You could simply relax in ultra-private accommodations – with 3 rooms, a living room, open kitchen and dining area.

With hints of style and elegance wrapped around the villa, the three double bedrooms have four poster beds, ensuite bathrooms, and air conditioning. The kitchen borders the open-plan lounge, with double doors leading to the central courtyard.

You would have access to a flatscreen HD TV, Blu Ray, DVD, and wireless internet. Alternatively, crack open a good old-fashioned board game from the onsite selection.

The splendid azure pool is the focal point, and enthusiastic swimmers can enjoy views of the Benthara River straight from the pool deck.

Indulgences at Apsara

‘Siri’ the friendly and polite chef will ensure a custom-tailored dining experience at Apsara. He is well-versed in sourcing delicious meals from local market produce. You could opt to discuss your meal requirements directly with Siri, who sets out to the markets nearby to cater for every individual food and wine wish - you’re welcome to join him. You could also bring your provisions along and he will ensure the delectable meals you prefer are prepared.

The villa arranged an amazing boat trip across the Benthara River and it was undoubtedly the best way to wrap up the vacation.

You could have a fun filled holiday with plenty to do while at Apsara both from the villa's own jetty and the Surf Lessons, Coastal Cruises, Snorkelling Trips and Scuba Diving can all originate from the villa itself.

If you’re up for something more inland the villa ill arrange market visits, visit to Beruwela Fish Harbour and turtle hatchery or let Apsara coordinate sunset drinks at the lighthouse. Well-equipped and competitively priced, Apsara comes very highly recommended.
