“Excuse me Madam you forgot your hair!”

It was an exhilarating flight today though it was a quick one. At least this didn’t happen to me. As I recall it was a new girl, African origin, polite as any other newbie would be. There are many mishaps that happen on flights, even whether you’re new or old, sometimes it’s just the luck. I have spilled tomato juice on white pants, sprayed beer over the whole front row, and dropped so many omelettes on the floor. Of course accidents do happen; most of the time it makes people laugh or makes them grumpy for the rest of the flight.

Some short sectors have this meal cart which has a tiny tray that makes it difficult to stack up after the meal service. So it is a common practice for the skinny air hostess to reach inside the cart to adjust and keep the flow of clearance. However this crew was blessed with a beautiful girl, with admirable curves and for her tough luck, when she tried reaching the last tray inside the cart, there was sudden turbulence.

Captain made the usual P.A for the crew to take seats for safety, and nobody noticed the newbie except me while shouting at a passenger to sit down. He was eagerly bending over a meal cart in the middle of the cabin, which has wedged to one side amidst the isle.

As I made my way through the fairly bumpy cabin, cursing the crew who left this meal cart, I could hear a voice coming out of it. “SIR, DO NOT TOUCH ME, I AM OKAY AND I AM COMING OUT!!”  It took a moment for me to realize this unruly passenger was just trying to pull out the newbie, who has strangely trapped herself inside the meal cart during turbulence.

With much embarrassment she managed to pull herself out of the cart, and she dashed off to the galley, followed by this helpful passenger calling after her “Excuse me madam you..You forgot your hair!”  She bravely walked back and grabbed her fake hair bun with large teary eyes and said “Thank You!” scornfully. It was too bumpy to laugh then, but now, it is on top of the list for the funniest air hostess videos.  At least the next generation of the newbie airhostess may think twice about an altitude friendly hair style.
