Love is in the air...
After a busy bee roster last month, it was a lovely sight to have Bangkok scheduled up next. A much craved for Thai massage is what I really need, and of course the monthly beauty maintenance.
Facials, hair treatments, mani-pedi; Bangkok is the ultimate retreat for an airhostess, especially when there is a couple of days layover at this station. The flight itself is a treat, as it is lively with so many holidaymakers on board.
There are so many couples, young and old, traveling from the west to this lovely East Asian paradise, with the hope of celebrating their everlasting love. Not to mention in the premium cabins, the constant chatter and laughter rise as the bubblies pop open every now and then.
There was a couple traveling all the way from Manchester, who was celebrating their 10th anniversary. They were in their early 40’s and drinking up and chatting with the crew. They were flying off to Bangkok, and then Samui, Pattaya, eventually covering the most beautiful parts of Thailand.
They had 14 days of love and celebrations planned up, which they shared joyously with everyone. They were more surprised when a close friend had ordered a celebration cake for them. It’s a pleasure to see all smiles onboard, and snap a few pictures for them.
All was well, as they continue to enjoy the rest of the journey. Though monitoring alcohol consumption was part of our duty, with so much love in the air, who could say no to another glass of Champagne. After all, they are just at the beginning of their second honeymoon!
Alas a peaceful flight, so I thought! There was a sudden rumble of breaking glass. With the crowd gathering around, we had to push our way through. After a bit of crowd controlling, we could spot two people going at each other like two wild wolves.
It didn’t take too long to recognize the loving husband and wife, who held their hands amorously, even after 10 glorious years of marriage (Now they let the cat out of the bag). A lot of swearing flew by, and as they were pulled apart from literally punching each other, the wife almost tore apart the husband's ear (Unfortunately for the husband her favourite past time would have been boxing).
It seemed as an impossible task to calm this two raving lovers or haters in this situation. And we almost restrained the wife as she was rabidly infuriated. However after calming them down, and seating them in far two corners of the plane for safety, the wife bewilderedly blurted out “HE forgot our son!” and from the other corner the husband screamed back "SHE forgot our son!”
BOTH of them had forgotten their 10 year old son at the airport!
Love,
Dany
