2nd February 2016, Colombo: This Independence Day, Uber has partnered with the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society for uberCARE.
This collection drive will give Uber riders the chance to contribute school provisions for rural schools spread out across the island, right from the Uber app.
As part of the Independence Day’s celebrations, Uber is also offering all riders 68% off on all rides on the day. The special discount will apply between 12 noon – 4pm and the promo code to avail this offer is ‘LANKA68’.
What can you contribute?
· Exercise books
· Stationery items such as pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, etc.
· Second-hand story books for school libraries
How it works?
· Open your Uber app between 12 noon and 4pm on Thursday, 04th February 2016
· Slide across to the ‘uberCARE’ option in the app, and ‘Request’
· Bag/pack the items to be collected
· An Uber will arrive to collect your contribution and drop it off at the Sri Lanka Red
Cross Society office – free of charge.
· All Uber users can participate in the uberCARE collection drive between 12 noon
to 4pm on Thursday, February 4, 2016
