Films featuring Dinakshie, Sheshadrie and Shanudrie releasing this year
Veteran filmmaker Dinesh Priyasad has made useful contributions to the Sinhala Cinema in various spheres, but producing three gorgeous daughters who are adding glitter to the silver screen is regarded as his most significant contribution to our cinema industry.
Dinakshie, Sheshadrie and Shanudrie are not strangers to filmgoers and art lovers because they have excelled in various spheres like singing and dancing as well.
We had yesteryear star sisters like Indrani, Mallika and Iranganie Perera of ‘Three Sisters’ fame and then we had the Kurukulasuriya sisters Jeevarani, Shirani, Janaki and Menik.
The new generation Priyasad sisters are not only creating magic but are also setting a significant record this year.
Three films featuring the three charming girls in pivotal roles are being screened this year, setting a record of sorts.
Dinakshie-starrer ‘Me Wage Adarayak’ directed by Chandran Rutnam was screened a couple of months ago while Aruna Mahendra’s ‘Lantin Singho’ featuring Shanudrie is now being screened in theatres.
Jackson Anthony’s ‘Address Ne’ featuring Sheshadrie is slotted for release on October 15 in the EAP circuit.
Dinakshie, born on march 18, 1990, Sheshadrie on December 2, 1991 and Shanudrie on September 8, 1997 – had all started their careers as little kids in ‘Apaye Thathpara Asoo Hara Dahasak’ and Onna Babo’.
Thanks to their father’s links to cinema they associated with stars of all shapes and sizes and today act opposite those veteran stars.
In Dinesh’s upcoming movie ‘Rahai Jeewithe’, Shanudrie plays Dilhani’s daughter while Sheshadrie plays Malani Fonseka’s daughter in another movie yet to be titled.
