Sea Food Club is the newly opened seafood restaurant at Grandeeza Hotel in Negombo. The restaurant overlooks the lagoon and the hotel’s pool giving it a good view. It’s easy to locate and is one of the few places in Negombo that you can go to enjoy a good meal overlooking the lagoon.

(Ambience - 4/5)

We first tried their Mixed Fruit Juice (Rs. 300) which was nice, as it was served chilled.

For starters we tried their Mixed Seafood Salad (Rs. 700) which was really delicious and fresh. This was followed by the Guangzhou Style BBQ Pork Spare Ribs (Rs. 700) that was a little dry but tasty. The Vegetable Broth with Chicken Wontons (Rs. 550) served warm was really delicious as well.

For our mains we had their Indonesian Style Nasi Goreng (Rs. 800) which was very spicy and delicious.

Our favourite dish was the Fried Whole Garoupa with Soy Sauce and Coriander (Rs. 1400) accompanied with a delicious peanut sauce. The fish was cooked very well and the sauce really elevated the dish.

We also tried their Hot Wok Fried Singaporean Chillie Crab (Rs. 1700), a signature dish of the restaurant. The crab was cooked well and the sauce was spicy and quite tasty.

We tried their Sautéed Pack Choy Mushroom (Rs. 700) dish as our vegetarian option which was also prepared well and tasted good.

They also served us with their Lemon Chicken (Rs. 850) dish. The chicken was cooked well but the lemon sauce was a little too sweet for my palate.

For dessert we tried their Tiramisu served with Amaretto Coffee (Rs. 750). It tasted more like a cheesecake but was delicious and we enjoyed the dish.

(Food and value for money - 4/5)

All in all we had a good experience at the Sea Food Club. The staff was friendly and good hosts. They took some time initially to serve us but fell into groove and we enjoyed our meal.
