This week, Jeremy Stork and his team at Jeorgie’s give us the basic tips to create their delectable beef burger as well as their yummy Spaghetti Bolognese at home. Jeorgie’s situated down School Lane in Nawala (Fun Factory premises) is easily one of the best places to dig into a delicious, juicy beef burger.
Beef Burger
For the patty
Minced beef
Onion
Garlic
Parsley
Celery
Basil
Soya sauce
Fish sauce
Tomato sauce
Egg
For the filling
Grilled bun (toasted on either side with butter)
Tomato
Lettuce
Cheese
Gherkin
Fried Egg
Caramelised onion
How it’s done:
Mix up all the ingredients that go into the beef patty and refrigerate overnight to allow the ingredients to marinade well. Make patties while making sure there are no holes in them and place in hot pan with butter or oil and cover to allow the patty to cook. Then turn over and let it brown. Place the patty along with the other trimmings and serve with a side of potato wedges or fries and some ketchup.
Spaghetti Bolognese
Spaghetti
Tomato
Onion
Garlic
Minced beef
Tomato paste
Tomato sauce
Cheese wedge
A pinch each of pepper and salt
For garnish:
Parmesan
How it’s done:
Heat your pan, add oil and then put in the chopped garlic, onion and diced tomato. Once these soften up, add the minced beef. Let it cook well and add a pinch of salt and pepper followed by the tomato paste and tomato sauce and finally place the cheese wedge and mix it well. Finally add the spaghetti into the sauce, toss and serve topped with freshly grated parmesan.
