views 803Celebrating 9 years in the pizza industry, Harpo’s took an innovative step forward by introducing the ‘I-Order’ platform. Brand Marketing Manager of Harpo’s Pizza & Pasta, Shehaan Thahir says that the idea behind the I-Order platform is to stay relevant with their diners and reward each and every customer in a consistent and equal manner.
The I-Order platform cuts the middle man and allows diners to place their orders through a tablet provided by the restaurant that places the order directly to the kitchen. It also allows customers to view their previous orders, check their ‘Pizza Perks’ balance and redeem that balance as they wish at the restaurant.
“The Harpo’s Pizza & Pasta brand has grown significantly over the past 9 years as one of the leading gourmet pizza brands in Sri Lanka. Innovations such as the I-order platform are what keeps us relevant with our loyal customers and ensure that we offer a premium dine-in experience,” says Managing Director Harpo Gooneratne.
We were given the chance to be one of the first people to check out the new platform and here is what we thought;
How It Works
So the I-Order platform is like ordering online except it’s an in-dining experience. Basically, it cuts out the long strenuous process of flagging down a waiter, asking him endless questions about what’s in which pizza and waiting till he gets back to you.
What will happen is that when you want to place your order you will be given a tab and if you are already a registered member at Harpo’s you just have to log in and if not, just go through a simple two step registration. Then you get to choose what you want to order; drinks, pizza, pasta etc.
When you select what you want to order it displays your options. We clicked on the Pizza and it gave us a full detailed list on what’s available with a picture and a breakdown of what is in each pizza. You can use filters like Chicken, Mutton and Vegetarian to filter your options.
After you select your pizza size (they have 9”, 12”, 19” and 22”), you can then go either half-half or order a full pizza plus note down your preferences and add more add-ons like extra cheese onto your pizza and then just confirm the order. Once you confirm, it will give you a final confirmation of your order and your total bill value before the order goes directly to the kitchen.
For drinks, we ordered a Peach Iced Tea because they don’t serve any fizzy drinks except for their homemade concoctions. Then we ordered a 12 inch half – half pizza with a side of Mutton Kheema and a side of the Pizza Cacciatore with extra cheese as an add on.
What We Thought - 5/5
We thought the I-Order platform is definitely one of the most user-friendly dining experiences. It was very convenient for several reasons. One being that it did get rid of the long task of placing your order through a waiter and secondly the platform gave a detailed breakdown of what’s in each pizza/pasta which allowed us to know exactly what we were ordering with. Plus it also displays your bill amount as soon as you confirm your order.
All in all, Harpo’s has introduced a platform that is a must to any restaurant hoping to enrich their customers dining experience. Having been the first in the pizza industry to introduce such a platform, Harpo’s has recognized the needs of their customers and delivered well, giving diners an easy going, comfortable and convenient dining experience.
Guests can now order via the I-order platform at the Harpo’s Pizza & Pasta Parlour, 178/A Stanley Tillekeratne Mawatha, Nugegoda.
