The Verandah at present is an equally homely venue for dinner and the ambience is just where it was left.
The management has made the excellent choice of naming themed nights for each day of the week at the Verandah and I was lucky enough to have a chance at trying out their food on three of the nights – Thursday (Japanese), Friday (Tandoori) and Saturday (Thai). In addition to the themed cuisine, the Verandah serves Sri Lankan food every night and does wonders in term of selection.
1. The bakery items are available every night and pair perfectly with the themed cuisine for the night.
2. Each night of my visits delivered perfectly with the soup items.
3. The array of Sushi on Thursday leaves nothing wanting for the Japanese aficionados.
4. The Tandoori nights are complete with a delectable array of Indian mainstays.
5. The KhaoSoi Soup on Thai themed Saturdays is something of a highlight and a great start to a culinary experience on par with the best money can buy.
6. The range of Indian dishes made available is a great outing for anyone with a taste for Indian favourites on a Friday night.
7. Crab Fried Rice is a main that doesn’t fail any pairing, even if the pairings come from the Sri Lankan cuisine.
8. Pad Thai in the typical Thai style of preparing flat noodles is a great alternative to the starch options available.
9. The Chicken Kebabs and the Shrimp Kebabs mix perfectly and go well with the Sweet Chilli Sauce and Peanut based sauce accompaniments.
10. The seafood variants including this Mixed Seafood Salad are great starters on any day.
11. Especially themed desserts are served up on theme nights along with mainstay favourites like Curd and Treacle.
12. Desserts at the Verandah themed nights close business in the choicest possible way.
