views 2134Having been open for just a little over a week, Coffee & Company is a beautiful café serving the most delicious and scrumptious goodies in town. With soft music playing in the background alongside the comfy furniture, it is the ideal place to wind down after work or hang out with your friends and have a good time.
The interior of the place is beautiful with warm and inviting colours and decor. The building belongs to the colonial era and is absolutely beautiful with its amazing pillars, white walls and backyard.

The team is led by Dilshan and Asha Fernando, a friendly and warm couple whose main inspiration behind opening Coffee & Company is to ‘build a sense of community.’ Everyone follows the example set by them and are welcoming with smiles that never leave their face. The service is fantastic and all the dishes were served within 5 to 10 minutes.
(Friendliness of staff - 5/5)
For our beverages we first ordered a Chocolate Mocha Heaven (Rs. 740). Even though they have been open for just a few days this drink was recommended to me by a friend and I am so glad I listened! It was the most heavenly chocolate milkshake with just the right amount of coffee added to it! I would go back just for that.
We also tried their Café Latte (Rs. 450) and we weren’t disappointed. Coffee Company certainly does live up to their name! The latte had the right proportions of coffee and milk unlike most we have tried recently.
For our starters we tried their Curry Chicken Crostini (Rs. 340) and Pol Sambol with Cheese Melts (Rs. 270) and it was these two dishes that stole the show! The Crostini was delicious with the perfectly cooked curry chicken on top. But the Pol Sambol and Cheese Melt was out of this world! Served warm, the bread was crunchy and the spicy pol sambol topped with the yummy salty cheese just made everything better. It was easily my favourite dish.
We also tried their Tomato and Beetroot Soup (Rs. 450). Beetroot in soup was a first for me and at first glance it looked really spicy but looks are deceiving because it was delicious served warm.
For our mains we also tried a Pesto and Prawn Pasta (Rs. 540) dish. The prawns were quite nice but there was nothing too special about the pesto or pasta, it was tasty nevertheless.
At Coffee & Company they encourage new and upcoming home businesses. From the interior designer to the furniture supplier everyone is from their community. For dessert it was the same. We tried their Apple Crumble (Rs. 450) made by a home baker. Served in a cute jar served warm it was delicious!
They also served us with their Fire and Ice (Rs. 450), which was a rather dramatic dessert. It was the usual vanilla ice cream but they pour a delicious shot of hot expresso on it that immediately melts the ice cream and makes it a yummy concoction!
(Food and value for money - 4.5/5)
Currently, they are open from 11AM to 11PM and are hoping to serve breakfast soon. Situated at 37/3, Pedris Rd, Colombo 03, it is a little difficult to locate but they are on Google Maps and are working on signage. But you can call them on 0771225567 and they will happily guide you!
