Eggnog
How can you go through the holidays without having some eggnog! It’s one of my favourite things about Christmas! Make sure you try out this recipe at least only for your family and trust me they will love you!
All you need is:
4 cups of milk
1 cup sugar
12 large egg yolks
1 cup chilled heavy cream
Grated nutmeg (optional)
In medium saucepan, whisk milk and sugar over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. In a large bowl, whisk egg yolks. Whisking constantly, pour hot mixture into yolks in a slow and steady stream. Return mixture to pan and cook over medium-low heat, stirring often, until it thickens. This will take about 20 to 25 minutes and do not let simmer. Quickly strain into a bowl. Stir in the cream. Let it cool completely, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until chilled. Garnish with nutmeg, if desired.
Peppermint Hot Chocolate
Who wouldn’t like to have some hot chocolate during the holidays?! In fact it’s something we can have anytime any day! This is something that will definitely win the hearts of all the kids and it’s safe to say most of the adults as well.

3 peppermint crushed (1/4 cup)
Pinch of salt
Place cocoa in a medium saucepan. Gradually whisk in milk until cocoa has dissolved. Add chocolate chips and crushed peppermint and let it simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until chocolate and peppermint have melted. This will take around 8 to 10 minutes. Bring to a boil and immediately remove from heat. Add some salt to taste.

Rosy Cranberry Cider
A chilled fruity drink is ideal to be served before lunch. And this drink has all the right flavours. It is also a very light drink so your guests will still have room to enjoy your meal.
All you need is:
2 oranges
8 cups of cranberry juice
4 cinnamon sticks
2 medium sized pieces of fresh ginger (peeled and sliced lengthwise)
Sugar to taste
With a vegetable peeler or a sharp knife, remove four long strips of peel from orange and set it aside. Juice the orange and strain out pulp.
In a medium stockpot, combine orange juice, reserved orange peel, cranberry juice, cinnamon sticks, and ginger. Taste, and add sugar if desired. Heat over medium-high heat until simmering. Reduce heat to low and continue to simmer for another 20 minutes. Strain to discard solids. Refrigerate and serve chilled.
