From a romantic setting for two to a business luncheon and a lazy Sunday brunch with friends, ‘British Food Week’, hosted by internationally acclaimed Executive Chef Rob Kennedy will bring you a mouth watering series of dishes that give traditional English cooking an exotic twist. Chef Kennedy will be spending the entire week in the Cinnamon Grand kitchens with a curated menu of gravies and nibbles and succulent bites, created especially for Cheers Pub, complementing the venue’s city-wide recognition for providing authentic pub grub.
Chef Rob Kennedy, whose repertoire includes cooking for dignitaries and royalty, has created a menu of over 15 a la carte for Cheers Pub patrons for lunch and dinner during the entire week; with starters, mains and delicious puddings designed to take one on a gastronomic journey from Sri Lanka to England and back again; complete with the all the culinary influences that will travel from plate to palate with every bite.
From the man who has personally cooked for her Majesty, HRH Queen Elisabeth five times in recent years, this week at Cheers Pub gives local patrons a one-of-a-kind opportunity to indulge in a meal fit for kings.
One of Chef Robert’s specialty starters is Sausage Roll & Bacon Jam. The dish comes together with 400gms of homemade pork stuffing, 300g of smoked bacon jam, cocktail sausages, onions, brown sugar, mixed herbs, puff pastry, 1 egg and 2 teaspoons of maple syrup to finish it off.
His mains include Braised Beef, Lamb Pie, and Roast Pork with Apple, Goat’s Cheese Tart and Great British Chippy, a dish with haddock as its base, fried in batter and served with triple cooked chips, pea puree, tartare sauce and chip shop curry sauce.
The award winning chef’s dissert selection is a gourmet series of English Puddings includes Eton Mess, a delightful creation combining crushed berries, whipped cream and meringue. His other disserts include Apple Pie, Bread Pudding and Rice Pudding among many others.
Come 29th, the British Food Week comes to a close, with Chef Rob’s piece-de-resistance dishes available for one and all to taste and indulge in. Great food, one-of-a-kind experiences and mouth-watering moments all come to life at Cheers Pub.
