We went around Colombo in search of the best spots to get the perfect iced tea and experienced myriad emotions.

Here are our thoughts.

1. Whight & Co - Peach Iced Tea

The iced tea came in a tall glass, with garnishes of mint leaves. It was clear liquid and looked like a fancy mojito. It definitely had the punch to it, with a sweet peach flavour, along with a bubbly taste with a punch of soda that rounded it off perfectly, leaving you feeling refreshed and wanting more!

2. Kaema Sutra - Iced Tea Soda

In addition to their mouthwatering contemporary Sri Lankan cuisine, on their "Bhima" menu they have the Iced Tea Soda that'll make any non iced tea lover fall in love! It is dark in colour with a rich tea and soda combo topped with a slice of lemon. And the best part is that the serving is huge and you can sip on this beauty right until the meal’s over!

3. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf - Peach Iced Tea

Who knew coffee chains had incredible iced tea? Their Peach Iced Tea came with a lot of crushed iced and in their famous ice blended container. It had the right ratio of tea and peach. Order it! You won't regret it!

4. Tea Breeze - Apple Iced Tea

This is such a chilled out spot and has some excellent hot/cold teas and yes their iced tea is pretty spot on. We tried out the Apple Iced Tea and it had the definite apple flavour, blending really well with the tea. To top it off it also had a cute garnish of apples chopped and sprinkled on top to give you a more refreshing feel and taste!

Located at the famous Dutch Hospital, this is definitely a sweet spot to chill out and relax with their extensive menu for tea. The Peach Iced Tea Soda was quite brilliant and had the original taste and is worth the try!

6. Coffee Stop, Cinnamon Grand - Iced Tea

Again, another splendid coffee spot for some original iced tea that tastes refreshing! The one we tried had the tangy lemon flavour and a hint of tea. Totally worth the price!

7. Dilmah t-Lounge - Prince of Kandy Lemonade Tea

Those of you who have a sweet tooth for lemonade should try this. It had a super tangy lemon and tea flavour. Strong in comparison to the others but quite interesting in flavour and the presentation was fabulous!

8. Bubblelement - Peach and Pear

This place looks like out of a Vogue fashion shoot set or a straight-off-of-Tumblr cafe. It's just so beautiful! And their bubble tea was quite interesting. It had the usual tea flavour but with a hint of pear along with the bubbles! The bubbles were like chewy candy and added more excitement to the drink as a whole!

9. Tea Avenue - Blackcurrant

For a place specialising in tea and milkshakes, we were quite disappointed with the Blackcurrant Iced Tea. It wasn't cold enough and although appealing, it just didn't suit our palate although all the berry fans might love it!

10. Bakes by Bella - Blackberry

The jars and brownies might be appealing and delicious but the Blackberry Iced Tea most certainly didn't taste like an iced tea and was more sour. The berries took over making it more like a fruit drink. Furthermore, it wasn't cold enough and wasn't so great!
