Couple of the week: Yohan and Ellie

This week we have Yohan and Ellie - the creators behind The English Cake Company.

1. When did you first meet and how long has it been since?
 We met 16 years ago at Elizabeth Moir school in Colombo where Ellie was the Director of Studies and Yohan was the Sports Coordinator.

2. What was the first thing about your partner that you were attracted to?
Yohan: Her beauty and her stubborn nature.
Ellie: His smile and long curly hair (which has now disappeared!)

3. What do you think maintains a successful relationship for both of you? (Friendship/physical attributes etc)
Yohan: Honesty and never go to sleep angry.
Ellie: We have very different strengths and once we recognised that they were strengths, not annoying differences, we've really been able to grow together and appreciate each other.

4. What is the best thing you like about your partner?
Yohan: The unconditional love she has for everything, she is always a very positive person.
Ellie: There's no best 'thing', it is a package. He is very kind, principled, multi-talented, determined and the most amazing daddy.

5. What is something you detest about your partner?
Yohan: Absolutely none....think we've worked those things out early on.
Ellie: He thinks he's always right!

6. Describe your relationship in a word?
Yohan and Ellie: Partnership.
