Oh, and not to mention the taste! Infinitely superior to the store bought stuff I’d say. And so easy to make that all you need is a food processor. So here’s how you do it.
Ingredients
2 cups roasted peanuts
¼ cup peanut oil or olive oil
3 tablespoons honey
½ teaspoon salt
Method
Place the peanuts in the food processor while still warm from the roasting.
Process for about 1 minute until the peanuts are broken into pieces.
Process for another 1 minute. Stop and scrape down the sides. The mixture should be a little wet by now.
Process continuously for another minute. Add the oil, honey and the salt gradually.
Process until you obtain the desired consistency, stopping and scraping down the sides.
Your butter should be thick and spreadable when it is ready.
Transfer to an airtight jar. Spread the love!
Easy, creamy and nutritious. And most importantly, 100% natural. One lick of the spoon and you know exactly why peanut butter has become such a classic all over the world today.
Beautifully nutty with just a hint of smoke to it, it hugs the tongue in a warm, fuzzy embrace and leaves you wanting more.
Try this and I guarantee you, you will not buy peanut butter ever again.
Useful Tips
- Get the unsalted peanuts. I get mine raw and roast at home. This you can do in the oven, an air fryer or simply over the stove on a pan.
- Remove the outer skin on the peanut for a smoother butter. I know this sounds like a daunting task but really, sit in front of the TV when a good movie is on and you’ll be done in no time. Sometimes I tend to put them in with the skin too and don’t notice such a great difference other than the fact that it tends to get a little drier. So no biggie really.
- Adjust the honey and the salt as per your taste. No hard and fast rule there. Also, if you think your peanut butter is a little too dry or a little too wet (it all depends on how warm your peanuts are when you start processing them), just use lesser or more oil as appropriate.
