With Grandparents day this past Sunday, it presented us with another great opportunity to get the kids involved in an arts and crafts project. This fun ‘family tree’ craft will surely be appreciated by your elders as well as the kids who will have oodles of fun putting it together.
Things you need
An old tray
Scissors
Green, brown craft paper
Glue
Decorative pens
Paint
Method
Clean out your old tray and get the kids to paint in a color of your choice. While the tray is being painted you can get the rest of the gang to cut out, leaves and barks of the tree from the
craft paper. It might be easy if you draw it out and then get them to cut it out.
This is an excellent exercise to help coordination and concentration in the little ones, try and use safety scissors at all times. Once everything is cut and ready start assembling your family tree.
You can instruct an older child to write down the names of your family members on little pieces of card. It will probably be an impromptu history lesson as well, with interesting family stories being told about colorful family members. Now assemble your family tree. Gift to a grandparent who will take delight at being presented the family on a tray!
