“So many children are weighed down attending classes. We don’t mind if our daughter Natasha doesn’t get very high grades. We just want her to enjoy her childhood.” explained Susan, Natasha’s mother.
“Yes, there is so much Peer Pressure for children to beat each other at everything, from tuition classes to sports. I know so many parents who are ambitious for their children. They want their child to achieve everything they couldn’t achieve in their lives.” commented Imtiaz, Natasha’s father.
“You are right. To add to the problems of children, schools also want prestige and teacher push students way beyond their limits, starting with the Grade Five Scholarship exam.” chimed in Marina, a student counselor.
“All schools should have Counselors and parents and children must get used to making use of them.” remarked Susan.
“I know. At the moment, there is stigma attached to going to a Counselor for the general idea is that only Problem Children go to a Counselor.” said Marina.
“Most children have problems because the parents are only interested in academic grades. The child’s behavior is not considered.” said Imitiaz
