This is such a fun, easy to do and also ‘tasty’ arts and craft project to do with your kids. It can also be a great gift to give to a loved one. My children loved make some for their father to keep in his office. If you find that the candy in the jar will be too tempting for little fingers you can also store other dried foods like pasta or cereal. Whatever you have inside these jars they are sure to give your kitchen a decorating boost!
Things you need
Old candlesticks, ceramic ones are more user friendly with the spray paint
Spray paint, any color of preference, a gloss finish is always better
Superglue
Old glass jars
Method
We all have glass jars lying around in our cupboards, old chutneys or pasta sauce jars will do. Give the jar a good clean. Then spray paint the lids of the jars and the candlestick of your choice.
You might have to do this with several coats for a nicer finish. Using the super glue, glue your glass jar onto your candlestick. Once dry, fill with candy or any other dried food of your choice.
You can either decorate with a ribbon, or if your kids are clamoring for some artistic activity you can get them to embellish the outside of the jar with sequins, or other artistic decorations.
The finished product will be a work of art and one to kep on your kitchen cupboard shelf for all to enjoy!
