It goes without saying that the day your child is born is one that will be etched in your memory forever. A day that you will rejoice as this wonderful extension of you, joins your family and enriches your life forever.
After awhile the memories will get hazy and as the number of children increase, events get a little fuzzy. Why not have a memory box to keep a reminder of the events that occurred in your life as well as around the world. In years to come you can look back and reminisce and this is a wonderful keepsake to remind ourselves about the day your child came into the world.
Here are some things to put in your
Pictures of the baby and your stay in the hospital
Cards and notes of congratulations from relatives and friends
Umbilical cord clasp
A lock of hair
Pictures of some of the gifts your child received
First outfit
Cuttings from newspapers of the events that occurred on the day they were born.
Little toys and cuddle wraps
Something to remember of the time of the year they born. My oldest was born during springtime, I still have some of the first flowers of spring, pressed and safely in her keepsake box.
A letter to your baby telling him or her of your thoughts, wishes and aspitations for them.
These are just some examples to include in your baby’s box, you obviously can add others that are more specific to your family. Either way they are a good way of looking back and sharing the wonderful memories of that day.
You can keep adding to the box as your baby grows and your baby’s memory box will be one you will definitely treasure in your old age. Happy Memories!
