Mummy Travels: Holiday Factory - Ladies' College Institute of Professional Studies

The long days of summer holidays though quite inviting on busy school days can prove to be disastrous if not meticulously organized and filled with activities for children. The wrath of a bored child is a risk not to be dabbled with lightly. Therefore as a parent “who has been there, and done that”, a summer workshop which has kept my children happy and occupied over the years is the annual Summer Holiday Camp held by the Ladies College Institute of Professional Studies.

Open to both boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 12, it is a fun-filled program which focuses on educational values and encourages both physical and social development through activities performed. Experiencing life at a holiday camp has profound positive effects. It gives confidence to the kids who sometimes feel shy and not too confident. It is a time where the children are free from overly structured routines of home and school, life at camp offers children the needed free time for fun and frolic. The Institute strives to create a carefree atmosphere where kids can let themselves go, give them a chance to relax, laugh, and let loose.

A day camp, held from the 1st to the 12th of August, the program commences at 08:30am and goes on till 12:30pm each day. My children enjoyed the summer camp every year because each year the camp offers children a plethora of new and interesting activities to enjoy. At the camp the children can enjoy Art & Crafts, Cookery, Fancy Dress, Singing, Hip Hop, Music and Games, Card Making, Talent Shows, Drama, and many more activities. With qualified teachers running the camp they also have specialist teachers visiting to conduct more of the specific activities such as drama and hip hop to name a few.

Summer camp can be a very important experience in any child's life, this is a time where new friendships are formed, maybe even new talents discovered as the child engages in a variety of activities. Different from school, it offers a more laidback atmosphere for the child to thrive and grow. As a parent I appreciate the Summer Camps put on at the Institute. For rather than wasting time glued to the television set or enveloped in the throes of an electronic device, my children are out in secure surroundings, running, jumping being creative and learning new skills. As a parent I am happy to see them make use of their time and my children themselves find more joy spending that time with their peers. Therefore this summer if you are thinking of sending your children to summer activities, I advise you to consider the Holiday Factory held by the Institute.
