The Formidable Three
Colombo Fashion week ended on a high last Saturday with a tremendous collection showcased by Sonali Dharmawardena. Her progress has been amazing and she is on top of the game now and one can only see a bright future for her.
Yolanda Aluvihare Holmes also presented a fabulous collection. Her daughter who has joined force with her to design under her label introduced a fresh look to the already famous label.
There were many others who showcased great clothes this year and what was wonderful was that the majority of them were Sri Lankan.
Credit must be given to the formidable three who are responsible for Colombo Fashion Week, Ajai Vir Singh the creator and producer, Dirk Flamer Caldera the controller and Prasad Bidapa who has encouraged and helped produce this show to reach this level.
Visible was the fact that the majority of the models were also Sri Lankans. Ramani Fernando Salons, as expected, did great hair and make-up. With lots of volunteers and sponsors this show has now reached great heights.
Show time
A lot of excitement is in the air with thoughts of my final show to be held in the Mt. Lavinia Hotel tomorrow to a packed audience. It has been a great rehearsing. Some of the cast have been chased out and replaced; some have abandoned doing the show for family reasons and still, the show has fallen into place. In the midst of all of this the cast has eagerly rehearsed for tomorrow.
Stefan has done some great costumes. Sujeewa has designed a great set. Mariza has done her usual great job of getting the production organised. The Leo Burnett team who were responsible for the creative will also handle the front of house and backstage. Nayana and her salon staff are getting everything organised for hair and make-up. Connel, Ramzi and Johan are also going to be backstage to lend a helping hand. Sammi flying down from Singapore to perform, Tina yet surviving all the headaches we have given her and Shyamalee controlling everything.
The Mt. Lavinia Hotel Chef-in-charge is busy putting the menu together and Cassim has cut short an overseas trip to come back to attend to the finer details.

All in all it is going to be a fun evening tomorrow and I wish all you lovers a Happy, Funny Valentine!
