Another year has dawned

Another year has galloped passed us and it is already the second day of the New Year. Many welcomed the New Year celebrating in their own special way. The atmosphere this day brings all around the world is as if there is no tomorrow and the world is a fabulous place. Yes, indeed it is to the person who knows about and is wise enough of the ways of the world. A good piece of advice was given to me recently: “think about those who brought you down in 2014 and do yourself a favour by starting this year with the right people around you, even if that means you will be alone.”

A great piece of advice indeed only if you are mature enough to understand it.  Why live in a world of make believe and think the entire lot of people around you actually love you or care for you? The bitter truth is that it is not the case. Most people around you have an agenda or want something out of you and the story goes on. It is best that you identify who your true friends are and treasure them. In reality they are only a very few and if you are in any trouble all those hanging on vanish and by then it is far too late.

As usual all wonder what this year will bring us, be it good fortune, work related success and romance. All those who are passing or have passed their sell by date will definitely wish to find a partner and certainly will be praying to the lords above to help them out.  If not themselves then their parents would be. It is also the time where astrologers are consulted to see the year’s fortunes and misfortunes.

The crafty, greedy ones who have swung financial gains either legitimately or otherwise will be praying for more this year as what is enough in the quantum of money has now reached such a level that even the dictionary will have to invent a new word for the new quantum of greed. The scarlet women who have swindled men will be looking for new targets like vultures. The wannabes will be wondering what vices they could adopt to achieve more fame this year and the green eyed monsters would wonder what new trouble they can brew this 2015 and so it goes on and on.

In reality this is the world and most of society we live in. Bearing all this in mind, let us try to live a humble life and thank god for all the blessings we have and lead a fabulous 2015.
