OH COLOMBO! By Koluu

There is nothing like a long weekend to inspire one to go roaming around, especially with the new locations and resorts available. I decided to accept an invitation to go deep south to Yala to a safari camp called “Cadjan Wild.” Though I used to enjoy visits to the jungles in my childhood and youth I had not been for some years.  My creature comforts having to be  satisfied,  I opted on this invitation as I was told that Cadjan Wild had two very comfortable air-conditioned villas.

Passing Kataragama I was amazed at the changes that had taken place over the years and the crowds in Kataragama to sight the relics were overwhelming.  When we got to Cadjan Wild it felt like we had arrive in a little piece of heaven.

Greeted by friendly staff we were treated to a most enjoyable late lunch of rice and curry.  Quite honestly, all the meals that we had at Cadjan Wild were absolutely delicious. The Villa I occupied was extremely comfortable and clean and with a great toilet.

Apart from the two air-conditioned villas, there is a safari lodge which could sleep eight to ten persons and two more rooms with attached toilets, hot water and comfortable bedding that could sleep four in each.  The meals can be served outside your villa. The animal sanctuary is close by and the Buttala Road and other roads that adjoin the park are also nearby where some wild life roam around.

I highly recommend Cadjan Wild to those who enjoy safaris and bird watching and the feel of the jungle. If you wish to book or make inquiries about Cadjan Wild email [email protected] who will provide you with all the information you need.
