With a gorgeous black and blonde fur coat, and puppy dog eyes one can never amiss Mr. Kholi! Surely he’s not the cricketer of course but an extremely fun and exciting little doggy friend. With a love for mangoes and his crazy ways Kholi is most certainly a man’s best friend.  Also ladies, do keep your heels away, he loves to get his doggy paws on them!

What’s the story behind the name you’ve given? 

I actually chose this name in remembrance of one of my previous dogs. So he is named after one of my dogs that passed away. 

What are meal times and bath times like? 

Meal time... Well this guy eats a bit and the rest, I have to chase after him! Bath time he enjoys it very much and is quite calm. 

Does he do anything out of the ordinary which fascinates you? 

He likes to try on shoes. He puts his feet in them and tries to walk around. 

What’s his most favourite fun time activity? 

Running around like crazy, playing with me and trying to jump onto my shoulders. 

What’s the naughtiest thing he has done? 

Chewing and ruining my best pair of shoes… Afterwards, he looks up at me with those puppy-dog eyes and there was no way that I could be mad at him. 

How did you find him? 

I went and bought him at the police kennels in Kandy. 

How does he react when you return home? 

He will run up to me like he’s seen a ghost, but with a happy face and jump onto me and lick my face! 

What’s the best thing about him? 

The best thing about him is his will to protect me. Even if he is asleep, if he senses even a slight threat to me, within a matter of seconds he will be by my side with a fierce look in his eyes that says that nobody or nothing will get past him! 

What was the most unforgettable moment you have shared with him? 

When he was younger, he slept in my room. One day he jumped onto my bed and slept there. Then after an hour or so, he stands up on my bed and starts pushing me. He actually pushed me my off my bed, jumped down licked my face, jumped back up and slept on my bed. He dominated my own bed. 

Can you share a cute story about Kholi? 

He loves to eat mangoes. So when he eats the seed part, he tries to hold it down but it keeps sliding away and he chases after it. It’s so cute to watch. 

Has owning this beloved pet made your life richer? 

Absolutely! Knowing that he is there and that I have something special to look forward to in even the gloomiest of days and that bond shared… It’s a feeling that no money could ever fill! 

What makes him so lovable? 

His fun, crazy and joyful nature that just induces joy into anyone who befriends him! 

What kind of funny and mischievous things does he do? 

He loves to steal my glasses! If I leave them on a table which is reachable to him, he will carry it in his mouth and go hide it! I end up having turn my house inside out to find it! He is quite skilled at hiding it!
