Anytime is a meal time for Balu and he enjoys barking at strangers, monkeys and any other thing which surprises him. However, his naptimes are longer than his days and he dreams like there's no tomorrow.
Pet's details
Name: Balu, Blu boy
Breed: Lionpom
Age: 15 years
Owner: Tharin
What's the significance of the name you've given him?
Well my mom thought of it and I was quite small when we got him. So I don't really recall the reason. But it is quite a unique name. I mean have you ever come across a dog named Balu before?
What is a typical day like for Balu?
A typical day for him would be sleeping the whole day, then waking up and following me to the kitchen, asking for food every single time.
What are meal times and bath times like?
Meal times, he has his milk in the morning. He just loves it. Other than that two other meals include lunch and a not so heavy dinner. We usually bathe him once in two weeks or so, since he’s old now. Also I must say he doesn’t look old at all despite missing a few teeth here and there!
Does he do anything out of the ordinary which you may consider as unusual?
Well he barks, grumbles and sighs in his sleep. Probably about his girlfriends back in the day.
What annoys him the most?
Well what annoys him the most apart from me annoying him are the monkeys jumping around in our neighbourhood.
What is his most favourite activity?
Definitely eating and sleeping.
What is the naughtiest thing he has done?
Naughtiest thing would be how he somehow gets me to give him cheese. There’s just no way of hiding it from him. He somehow senses it, appears out of nowhere and that's the end of the cheese.
How did you find him/her?
My stepdad got him from a friend of his.
What is he most afraid of?
Thundering and crackers indefinitely. I guess any dog or any animal would be afraid of those.
How does he react when you've returned home after a long day?
He’s just so cheerful. When I return home he wags his tail and jumps around even though he's a fatty. He just goes crazy!
What's makes him the best?
How he’s always there for me. No matter how late I get to get home he’s always there to greet me. With his age he can barely hear, but he somehow senses that I’m back and he’s just always there when I open the door.
An unforgettable moment and you shared with him?
Oh so many. One would be when I had exams he stayed up with me all night until I finished studying. It’s just hard to explain a single moment. I just don’t know what I’d do without him.
