This exhibition was about all kinds of experiemntation: with the work, with the mode of the work, with the space the work is viewed in. "Hot Butter Collective" is an avenue for artists to create work that is outside their own practice, thereby changing the scope of the work or indeed the work itself.
By challenging these models, we ask if we can create an experience with art taht is truly present and engaging; an experience that can be taken away and considered long after the act of viewing has ceased. "In Space" is the first show by the Art Collective - Hot Butter Collective. Artists like Kavan Balasuriya who recently completed a Bachelor's Fine Art degree at the Central Saint Martin's College of Art & Design in London, UK were featured.
Larry T Hill did an interesting and interactive performance space called Chinese whispers. Rehan Mudannayake portrayed his "Blue Scar" short film. Shanika Perera's Bill Boats was a hit, her deep passion for the environment made her save up all the bills and receipts that she had received in the past years. Venuri Perera brought in some Live Art installation to add that fine touch to a night of classic creativity. "In Space" was put together by Natasha Thompson, Jonathan Wijayaratne, Ryan Wijayaratne and Arun Welandawe Prematilleke.
