South Asian Art Platform Kala presents its inaugural exhibition with revered  Sri Lankan photographer  Lionel Wendt serving as the catalyst for the exhibition.

KALA Assistant Curator Mariyam Begum under the guidance of KALA Curatorial Advisor and Adjunct Curator at Large of the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, Sandhini Poddar has brought together works by 19 Sri Lankan artists spanning eight decades. Sri Lankan photographer Lionel Wendt’s work was taken as a point of departure by the curators for the exhibition, which explores the relationship between the image-making process and technology.

Pivot.Gkide.Echo. provides a unique look into intergenerational dialogues between modern and contemporary artists from Sri Lanka and the diaspora.

Among the other artists showing in Pivot. Glide. Echo. are Saskia Pintelon, HA Karunaratne, Anoli Perera, George Classen, Kavan Balasuriya and Muvindu Binoy. The exhibition opens at the Lionel Wendt Art Centre in Colombo on 28 January and will run until  25 February 2024.
