But the excitement is growing by the day as the final 15 contestants are getting ready to prove their eligibility to grab the title this year. Last Sunday, the mini pageant for Miss Personality, Congeniality and Confidence sponsored by Arpico Supercentre, took place amidst a competitive atmosphere. A diverse audience, comprising of individuals in different professions was present at this glamorous evening.

The contestants introduced themselves to the audience during the Miss Personality pageant where they spoke about what they wanted to achieve through this platform. Some contestants were from Kandy, Wennappuwa and Gampaha but they all had a common interest of making the world a better place to live in.
The Miss Congeniality pageant was a highlight of the evening where the contestants had to vote among themselves for each others’ personality.
The Miss Confidence pageant looked at how the contestants socialized with the crowd, their confidence in speaking to another and expressing their views.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Ambassador of Brazil to Sri Lanka, Elizabeth-Sophie Balsa said that she was really impressed by the confidence and the elegance of the contestants. “It is very nice to be at a pageant like this because some of the contestants are barely 18 years old but they all want to do something different. It is really a privilege to be at an event like this.”
The evening was made even more colourful with performances choreographed by veteran dancer Channa Wijewardena.
