Black
A versatile band of six that holds their audience in high esteem, “Black” takes the spotlight as the only band specializing in alternate rock and soft rock. From the 60s to the hits of the 90’s together with those of the 21st century hits, “Black” is all set to colour the stage with their versatility. Initially, only a “request band”, “Black” has now risen from a 3- member band playing at Deli market in 2004 to a much sought after band owing to their formulae of performing according to the desires of their audiences.
The band has played at many events ranging from dinner dances and the HSBC Golf Tourney to high profile launches of brands such as Pirelli and Samsung Mobiles. With songs such as, “Nimak Nathi Adare” and "Pap pap pare" that are climbing popular music charts in the island, “Black” promises to stay true to their core identity of being “simple in [their] hearts, minds and [their] music.”
Doctor
Formed in 2008, “Doctor” took the spotlight of the local music scene with their debut single “Aeththamai Kiyanne” followed by “Mage Girlfriend” which won the award for “Best Baila Song” at the Derana Music Video Awards 2011. Both songs spelled great success and continue to do so as their songs top local music charts. “Doctor” is capable of playing to any audience, whatever their musical preference may be and adds local essence musically, to events ranging from dinner dances to musical shows in Melbourne.
The Sherifs
Sri Lankan born producers Azi Sheriff (Azlan Shariffdeen) and Dirk James are the first to produce an album released under Sony Music International and Universal Music UK and a charted album on The ARIA charts with a peak position at no. 19. Multidimensional in their approach to music, they are involved in many projects ranging from songs for artists and writing/producing music scores for several films, which include Hollywood and Bollywood stars.
Formed in 2011, The Sheriffs have sought to create a bridge between the world that is shifting to the east and music taste that still roots itself in the West, in a unique manner heard in their distinctive, yet commercial sound.
Glory
Initially, only a group of friends giving free rein to their musical instincts, “Glory” later became a much sought after band that plays for many events. Formed in 2008, “Glory” has taken limelight for the unique musical style that combines elements of Pop, Classics, Rock n Roll, Soul, Funk, Classic Rock, RnB, Reggae, Country, Rhumba Flamenco, Blues and Jazz. From music of the 70’s to the 90’s, “Glory” also specializes in Accapella covers of popular songs, not often heard in Sri Lankan music.
DJ JAYY VIBES
DJ Janaka is currently amongst some of the finest talents of the country. Influenced by the many international and local DJ's fuelled by his love for music, he is now the resident DJ at “Club Amuseum” in 2009. Previously showcasing his skills at “Club Hippos”, “Graffiti” and “Club Zanziba”, DJ Janaka is a member of the group Colombo House Mafia (CHM). DJ Janaka has also been featured in some of the most talked of events of the industry and played alongside some of the well known international DJ's such as Avicii, Paul thomas, Minimize, Timmy Vegas, John Jacobsen and Gee Moore.
RYAN AND SACHI
Ryan Demel and Sachi Gamage, the duo who came together a few months ago, are filled with musical talent and promise a variety of unique renditions to current and old songs at “Xtaztic 2013”. Since his debut at Xtaztic 2012 Ryan has excelled in his musical career ever since and Sachi on the other hand will be one to look out for, making his debut at Xtaztic 2013.
ACCIDENTALS
The Accidentals promise a varied musical experience seen in the talents and abilities of the group with Rachtiha Desilva on keyboard, Dilhan Weerasekera as the leading vocalist, Nisal Samarasinghe on bass guitar, Ezra naotunna on rhythm guitar and Seth Fernando on the lead guitar. Devin Kalupahana is newest addition to the group with a voice that’ll take you back memory lane to the good old Elvis Presley era! Iynkaran Mangaleshwaran, with a Diploma in drumming, is not only a drummer but also a saxophonist and gives the essence to the music of the “Accidentals”.
