Etisalat Lanka in partnership with JC Entertainments has announced the launch of the first ever Woodstock Colombo 2015. Upon the suggestion of Jerome Speldewinde, Woodstock Colombo is created and organized by JC Entertainments along with music business professional Rajitha Rupasinghe of Misty.
In all attempts to recreate the original festival, Woodstock Colombo will be including the original Woodstock music festival line-upfeaturing Joe Cocker, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, The Grateful Dead, The Who, Janis Joplin, Santana and Ravi Shankar performed live by over 30 of Sri Lanka’s most talented musicians such as Rattlesnake, FLAME, Mintaka, Chris Dhason (CJ), Shafi, Rukshan Perera, Slipping Chairs with Dylan, Pradeep Ratnayake, Rajitha (MISTY) and many more. Originally scheduled to take place in September, the concert was postponed due to adverse weather conditions and is due now to take place this November.
Speaking with the organisers about having to postpone the show, Jehan of JC Entertainments laughs and says ‘rain or shine - this time the concert will go on!’
Proceedings from the concert will be given to two deserving charities - the Sunera Foundation thatworks towards enhancing the lives of differently abled young persons in Sri Lanka as well as towards the construction of well-equipped, secure and easily assessable classrooms for the Primary School of Chundikuli Girls’ School in Jaffna.
