This magnificent group of singers who are currently ranked 09th amongst  the  top 50 Male Choirs in the world have helped to raise the bar in the realm of choral music in Sri Lanka to reach a new standard of excellence and over the past 18 years have dedicated themselves to enthralling their audiences with their very own unique style of presentation and harmony incorporating the best in Acappella singing  which incidentally is their forte together with some impressive beat –boxing.

 

Their outstanding achievements to date are ample testimony to their inherent talent stemming no doubt from their deep faith –their very choice of name “The Revelations” being derived from the last book of the Bible “The Book of Revelations”

 

From their humble beginnings way back in 1994, they have risen to great heights culminating in their awesome achievement in the  Austrian town of Graz in 2008 at the world choir games where they won the title “World Champion” not once but twice,  in the  Gospel and Spiritual category  and the Male Vocal Ensemble category together with two Gold Medals and a Silver Medal.

 

 

 

Thereafter they have performed on invitation  at the Tomohon International Choral competition held in Manado Indonesia as well as at the international choral festival organized by the Acappella Society in Singapore. In May this year they toured Kuala Lumpur and Penang, Malaysia and have just returned after a successful tour of China and Hong Kong where they enthralled their audiences with their  rich vibrant harmony, soulful renditions and dynamic presentation which has earned them international acclaim.

 

Their Christmas Show “HE IS CHRISTMAS”  is scheduled to go on the boards at the Lionel Wendt Theatre on the 30th of November and 01st December 2012. It will also feature guest performances by the international award winning “Revelations Academy” which won two Silver Medals at the Tomohon International Choral Competition held in Manado, Indonesia in 2010 and the renowned youth choral group “Choro Calibre” which won one Silver and two Bronze Medals at the Asia Cantate International Choral competition held in Thailand in July 2012, the accompanists on the Key Boards will be Neranjan De Silva and  Christo Prins on the Drums.
