Another Jith Peiris production to take the stage!

Jith Peiris, one of the country’s most renowned patrons of music and theatre will bring another piece of entertainment for a good cause. ‘Stars on Parade’, a mind-blowing musical extravaganza will be presented to all music lovers on April 30, 2015 at the Lionel Wendt. The show is set to unite some of Colombo’s finest choirs, soloists, dancers and pianists for an evening of maximum entertainment.

Jith observes the youth in the performing arts circuit and believes that they have a potential to reach greater heights. As such the show will include a variety of items from Broadway Classics to Latin songs, dances and other items from Sinhalese and Tamil which will be performed by young artistes.

Some items from the show include ‘Mamma Mia’ by the Soul Sounds Academy Choir, performances by the Menaka Singers, St. Cecilia’s Choir of St. Joseph’s College, St. Thomas’ Choir, a piano break highlighting the American rag time by Eshan Denipitiya, a song from ‘Chicago’ by Amandi Caldera, a quartet from ‘Ave Maria’ by the Holy Family Convent Choir and Latin dancing items choreographed by Kevin Nugara.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror Life, Jith Peiris said that he was quite happy about the feedback he has received from the young artistes. “I have been doing this for a while now. There are several people participating in this show. Young talent is at its best; there are lovely new voices that can cherish you throughout the evening. This is the best of what you can see in Colombo.”

All proceeds raised will be donated to the landslide victims and for the purchase of items including uniforms, books, school bags, shoes and other provisions for the affected children. With many enchanting voices and performances in the backdrop the show is sure to keep your toes-tapping till the end.
