Nalaka Swarnathilake, who has produced many children’s creations such as Dangamalla and Anne, will be unveiling his newest creation at the Bishop’s College Auditorium on April 28, titled ‘Pini Poda Wessak - Small Wonders on Stage’.

This will be the inaugural show presented by the students of the Whyteleafe Performing Arts Academy founded by Nalaka Swarnathilake. This show starting at 6 pm will have over 70 student participants from the Academy and from the cast of children’s dramas ‘Mama Wenama Malak’ and ‘Dangamalla’ – all of whom are between the ages of 8 and 15.

The event comprises 15 items, with songs in six languages (including Sinhala, English, Tamil and Japanese) and dancing styles stemming from several cultural backgrounds. In addition to songs, dances and dramas, there will also be other creative team performances.

The diverse nature of this show promises a joyful experience for the whole family, with many creations that are suitable to the younger generations.

As Nalaka explains, “the Whyteleaf Performing Arts Academy was the first institute in Sri Lanka that was started with the intent of using drama, dancing, singing and other aspects of the performing arts to develop the personality of the children. Its main objective was to create a better citizen for the future rather than just an artist. Thus, this show is being organised as to provide the children an opportunity to exercise their leadership and organisational skills as well as giving them a national stage to showcase their talents”.

The event will be graced by many distinguished guests including Visharada Nanda Malini, Prof. Kshanika Hirimburegama, Prof. Kusama Karunarathne and Sanath Gunathilake. There will be limited amount of seats available for the show, and anyone interested can inquire from 0777577718.
