Photobooths.lk Launches Slow-Mo Video Booth
Photobooths.lk becomes the first to introduce the concept of a slow motion video booth in Sri Lanka. Launched at a homecoming in December, the final compilation of the video booth presents a wacky collection of clips of guests as they face off to the camera. A video booth that is set to be the newest trend in weddings, we spoke to the Managing Director, Kasun Ediriweera about the whole concept of it all.
Tell us about Photobooths.lk.
Since our initiation in 2012 as the first to introduce automated photo-booths to Sri Lanka, we have grown to become the premier photo booth rental service in Colombo. Our team is currently focusing on surpassing last year's benchmarks in terms of high quality innovative entertainment.
What’s a slow motion video booth?
It’s an all new wedding and party favour that we are introducing for the first time. The guests are invited to the pre-set space and asked to perform any action that would like to see in slow motion. A variety of props also aid our cameras to capture some of the wackiest moments of the wedding which includes dance moves, jumps and even slaps. The final video is a compilation of the best footage, slowed down and synchronized to a groovy beat.
What’s the story behind this being initiated?
The inspiration for the idea comes from a set of video we came across online. Immediately all we could see was potential for a great product. After Uditha and I figured the technicalities, we proposed the idea to Uzmaan’s team from Eventz n Trendz a few months back. They were excited and came on board to launch the service for the December wedding season. Their support as the wedding planner was mandatory in making this favour a success.
How does the slow-mo video booth work?
I can’t share trade secrets now can I? Haha!
You debuted it at a wedding recently – how was the reaction to that?
The response from the guests was remarkable. We were able to bring out their creativity and most of the acts in the video were their own ideas. Watching the live preview only made them want to go again.
Why request a slow motion video booth?
Video booths are a great modern way of remembering the guests at any event. It’s also a party favour that invokes the subjects’ imagination. There’s a whole different world out there in slow-motion, why not let your guests explore?
What plans do you have for the slow motion video booth?
For now plans are to keep improving the service and keep every video fresh. We’ll be further promoting this for weddings and private events.
What’s next for Photobooths.lk?
Our hunger for innovation hasn’t quenched. We will continue to thrill our clients with more products such as our photo-booths and now video booths. This year we are exploring opportunities to reach more people by installing photo-booths in public locations around Colombo.
