Simon Cowell has slammed talent shows for being boring.

The music mogul - who is behind 'Britain's Got Talent' and 'America's Got Talent' and has judged on 'Pop Idol', 'The X Factor' and 'American Idol' - has criticised TV contests for "beginning to look the same", and insists he is determined to mix things up with this year's 'X Factor' USA.

He said: "I thought all these shows are beginning to look the same, got two guys right and left, two girls in the middle.

"We've got a very interesting middle section now, which I won't say what it is, but it's really, really good. Very dramatic and better than what we did last year."

Simon will grace our screens with Demi Lovato and new judges Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio - who have replaced L.A. Reid and Britney Spears - on the next series of 'The X Factor' USA, and he thinks the fiery chemistry between the female judges will help revitalise the show.

He explained: "Well, I'm quite used to that, putting a load of girls into one situation and seeing how they get on. I like that. I think it's fun."

The 53-year-old star has a string of dramatic ideas tucked up his sleeve and while he is remaining tight-lipped about the new changes, he is determined to stamp out the petty comments between the judges.

Speaking to Extra, he said: "I'm bored by a bunch of millionaires bickering amongst themselves while somebody's on stage going, 'What about me?' I can't bear it any longer."
