Renowned and international award winning wildlife photographer Surgeon Rear Admiral Lalith Ekanayake has won the prestigious UPI Gold Medal at the recently concluded 3rd Danube International Photographic Competition in Serbia.

In contrast to his wildlife photographic wins in the past at this contest he received the Gold for one of his candid shotsof a human portrait.

Lalith’s work has been exhibited in about 25 countries and twice his pictures were selected as the Editor’s choice, Photo of the Month and Photo of the Day at the National Geographic International Photography Competition.

Lalith has also been a finalist for the past few years at the BBC International Photography Competition in UK.
