Project 2 Electtronika, Sri Lanka’s first all electronic techno/house band that specializes in the genres of trance, electro, dub step, house and electronic body music (EBM) to name a few. The artistes that make up Electtronika are synthesizers, drum machines, sequencers and synth bass, with the combination of two DJ consoles, making it the first Sri Lankan band of such caliber.

“Project 2 Electtronika is an all Electric Band, where we don't use any kind of acoustic gear, not even a cymbal. So we can reproduce any song the way it is with higher levels of dynamics,” said Ruban Balakrishnan, the lead musician. “Every single tone is played live and sung live. We don't use any kind of backing tracks. So the music we produce is 100% live and real.”

Ruban Balakrishnan, is one of Sri Lanka’s veteran drummers who has over 15 years experience in the local and international music industry as a session drummer, F.O.H and Fold back Audio Engineer. Project 2  Electtronika is Rubans brainchild.  

“Unlike the average band that we witness everyday Project 2 Electtronika is a band that promises and delivers pure entertainment to any age group they entertain,” Ruban said, adding “Electronic Drums will be playing an important role with the use of Electronic modules and trigger systems to maintain and deliver the advanced sound needed for high quality electronic music of today.”

The band comprises DJ KC Grey a talented female DJ also mans the console for mixing and reproducing tracks. Neomi is the bassist who also contributes her vocal talent. Shemay a professional dancer performs self choreographed dance acts and also handles the keys. Apzi is the hip-hop artist and vocalist while Maria is the electronic percussionist.

Come November 25th Project 2 Electtronika go on stage in a  debut performance at KEG at the Excel World commencing at 7 p.m. The launch will also feature musicians Ronnie Leach, Kei Watanabe, Glow & Rahul and Rathika Raj among others.
