Priyanka Chopra was reportedly rushed by eager fans in Montreal.
The actor and singer was invited onto a French-Canadian television show to promote her new single.
A source told DNA India: "It is one of the most popular chat shows on TV there. When Priyanka arrived at the studio, she was mobbed by more than 200 fans.
"It was unexpected and no-one including the studio was prepared for it. There was a stampede and security had to be called in, just to ensure that PC gets into the studio safely.
"The security officials told us that in the past ten years of the show being on air they had never seen anything like that.
They have had a whole host of international celebrities on the show, but they admitted that they had never seen a reception like that.
"Priyanka has been getting a very positive response for both her films as well as her song. Though the actress is used to such a turn-out, she was not prepared for a crowd like this in Montreal.
"Despite a tight schedule, Priyanka made sure that it was worth the wait for her fans. Post her show she interacted with several of them."
Chopra's video for 'In My City' received over 650,000 YouTube views in the first week of its release.
The star said recently that she wants the world to "know what Bollywood is about".
