Ruzlina is a newcomer to the field of modelling. She has an inspiring  story for all of us, especially for those who are fighting battles with body fat and excess weight. Ruzlina came down from being 94 kilos to 53 kilos to pursue her dream of becoming a model. She was trained under Sri Lanka’s former beauty queen – Rozanne Diasz.

This inspiring lady has an outgoing personality and a refreshingly positive outlook on life.

Height : 5'5

Eye colour : Dark brown

Hair colour : Black

Life’s motto : Life is wonderful and all I want is to become a successful person

What prompted you to make this life-changing transformation in your weight?

I was a person who ate anything during my high school. I was always fascinated with working-out. But I always lacked the motivation to start training hard. But after I was done with my final year of school and exams were completed I was motivated to lose some weight. I somehow pushed myself out of the comfort zone which gradually  led me to where I am today.

Explain your process to losing weight?

I focused on a proper diet plan. I just followed basics where I went on a diet and did regular exercises. The key to success is not just being on a diet but also doing regular exercises.

Why do you like modelling?

Modelling is very demanding profession both mentally and physically. To outsiders modelling looks easy. All they see is a good location,  designer clothes and posing. But that's wrong. I model because I’m passionate about it. I also love meeting new people and it fits in with everything in my life. The thing that drives me most is what people say about my pictures. Modelling makes me feel good about myself.

Is this now going to be your career?

Everyone works to different goals, levels and distances. Modelling, for me, is just like a hobby and it is my passion, but I wouldn’t do it as a full time career. And I never planned on making money or becoming massively famous. I just wanted to see how far I could get and I’m looking forward to reaching the top in this profession.

Hopes of an international career?

I might consider participating in local competitions to gain experience in modelling.  If I’m lucky enough I might even end up representing my country at nternational pageants. I just want to focus on the basics first.

Are you in love?

Maybe, maybe not…
