“The Playlist” is a name that has been making the rounds on social media networks and you might have seen posters at various hangouts, it might have intrigued you simply because the poster features the young adults of Vocal Enigma who are ready to take the stage this weekend with their concert titled Playlist.

Your next question surely has to be is who is Vocal Enigma? The answer to that is quite simple yet motivating, Vocal Enigma is a choral group which consists of working professional from diverse professional and musical backgrounds who come together to pursuer their common passion -making music. Established on 16 November 2010 in Bangalore, Vocal Enigma was initiated in April 2012.

The 30 member group is directed by Maneesh Dasanayake who prior to initiating the group in 2012 before leaving Bangalore, sent around a mail to all singers he has worked with since childhood and brought forward a proposal to initiate a chorale group with a difference. One and a half years down the line, here they are ready to present one of the most unique choral shows Colombo has ever seen!

The choir mainly consists of individuals between the ages of 17 and 28, all of who enjoy listening to music by the latests upcoming artistes. Therefore this show focuses on music of the more "modern" type with a bit of golden oldies thrown in for good measure. These songs would be found on any individual's playlist and hence the show is titled the same.

Vocal Enigma would present "The Playlist" on 9 and 10 November at the British School auditorium at 7.30Pm. Vocal Enigma has always performed for a particular cause and this time around they would be donating proceeds of the show towards orphaned and physically challenged children.
