The annual ‘Isai Aram’ cultural programme organised by the South Indian Music Faculty of the University of Visual and Performing Arts will be held at the university’s new auditorium on August 7 under the patronage of Pandit W. D. Amaradewa and Vice Chancellor Prof. Jayasena Kottegoda.

This faculty which marks its 8th year aims at propagating South Indian classical music like Karnataka among Sri Lankans, in a bid to enhance communal harmony, the faculty’s senior lecturer Rashmi Sangeetha said.

She said several prominent artistes and distinguished guests would be gracing the occasion on Wednesday. The first ‘Isai Aram’ programme was held last year.
