Saturday, 16th February is the day, Bishop’s College Auditorium the venue, and 7. 30 p.m. is the time. Be there, sit back and watch Music In Motion take you on a musical rollercoaster; hands down you will love the ride! Directed by Safra Deen and choreographed by Natasha Burhan, Music in Motion is a one-of-it’s-kind show choir in their second production this time, only with a bigger cast. “Hall of Fame” is a tribute to legends and maestros with a fresh twist by local youth.

The programme for the show will in itself give you such a surprise, you cannot possibly grasp the array of items they are going to perform! In essence, your all time favourite artistes are bound to be there, so whatever kind of music it is that you enjoy, there’s little chance you might be disappointed.

There are solo items and group performances in both singing and dancing, and add to that fused numbers all waiting in the wings. Behind all this good deal of music and motion, so to speak, is a worthy cause. Part of all proceeds is to be directed towards Adopt a Dog and Wildlife conservation.

With just days left to go, one should expect the cast to find the rehearsals nothing short of exasperating, and here they are thoroughly enjoying themselves. Daily Mirror Life spoke to members doing main acts and here’s what they had to share about the concept and the show.

It’s nice because we get to sing and dance both. Everybody is really friendly. Rehearsals are catching speed, but they haven’t been really killing us. The Bogey medley is my favourite; we get to dance extra!

There are so many experienced, talented people here. And they come from all over. Different schools and different choirs. My favourite item is the Sinhala medley. Rehearsals are going really good. The show is going to be amazing.

This is a really good concept. To my knowledge, this is the first musical show here where proceed went for animal welfare. So it’s a noble and innovative concept, where the cause gives hope. We have come a long way from where we’ve started. Attendance can be a challenge at rehearsals, though. Everyone is confident that we can put together a good show.

My favourite is the Sinhala Medley. I like the concept of a show choir, dancing as well as singing. And then there are individual dance items. I haven’t seen such a show. Practices are going pretty well. And expect a few surprises at the show.

I think it’s like feeling the old experience all over again. I sang with Safra in Voices of Harmony, and now experiencing it again. Of course, the Sinhala medley is my favourite. Rehearsals are awesome; you get to work with old people and new people.

My favourite is the Broadway Medley. I have sung in choirs before, but it has always been an only choral sort of thing. Here you dance as well. Rehearsals are awesome!
