His name is Wong Pee Li, but this international Kung Fu Star is better known as Billy Wong who has worked with top stuntmen like Jackie Chan and even in Sri Lankan movies. He is a popular star in Hong Kong and Thailand too.

He has acted in the movie Weerya produced and directed by Sunil Aruna Weerasiri. “Sunil is a good human being. His daughter was also trained by me. She appears to be a potential action heroine in Sri Lanka,” said Billy.

Why has Kung Fu become the best part of your life?

The finest cosmetic in the world is a look of glowing health.  In order to attract someone else you must be attractive to yourself. A pleasing personality is not window dressing. It’s the ability to create and maintain a good impression about you in the minds of other people. That is why Kung Fu has been the most passionate part of my life.

Do you consider yourself as the second Jackie Chan?

Not at all. I always want to be the first Billy Wong. None of us possess the speed, rhythm, flexibility or timing of others. It’s no use copying anyone. I believe in being myself and especially being the best of my own self.

Your daily schedule?

Wake up around 5 in the morning and start jogging and then engage in stretching and Kung Fu exercises.  I have a good breakfast and later an early lunch followed by more reading and a nap. In the evening I end up in a Chinese or Thai restaurant for dinner after a rigorous workout.

Your name has been romantically linked with several of your co-actresses?

When some people criticized the batting styles of renowned cricketer Don Bradman, he said, “Don’t look at the bat but look at the ball where it has gone. It’s gone for sixers.” I wish to take a cue from that. Look at my performance. My private life is mine. Speaking of lovers, I am involved with four of them now. They are 1) shaping and sculpting of my body 2) a good nutritious meal 3) voracious reading  and 4)  deep sleeping

How do you handle fame?

I believe one should not allow success go to your head nor failure to your heart. You must be honest and your feet firmly placed on the ground. I always want to be the best in whatever I do.

How do you handle criticism?

Unjust criticsm is a blessing in disguise, because it reminds you that you must be doing something right to be unjustly criticised. It's easy to fall into the habit of condemning others, even those whom we love most. I like to spend my time lifting people up and not pulling them down.

Your opinion about marriage?

Marriage is like a dull meal with a delivious dessert at the beginning.  But this is my personal opinion.
