Amber by Anushka is a bridal service offered by Anushka Perera De Fonseka and has been in operation since 2011. With a fan base of over 7500 on Facebook, Amber is basically a web based comprehensive and sophisticated service for brides-to-be in specific and every woman in general.

In addition to catering to brides, Amber provides a plethora of other beauty and fashion based services. Amber is a local and international jewellery provider, and items are regularly shipped to customers overseas.

Commenting on where Anushka intends to take amber in times to come, she says, "We intend on taking the brand to a different level and diversifying. The launching of our own Bridal academy would be an unforgettable milestone in our brand I’m really excited about it. This would provide me with an opportunity to share my knowledge about fashion and bridal dressing with the upcoming generations.”

1.    How did Amber start? What is the story behind it? For how long have you been in the field?
I have always liked fashion since I was a kid – growing up I was very interested in all the latest trends in clothing, shoes, bags and jewellery.  I worked at Brandix as a merchandiser and loved being around many designer labels such as M&S, GAP, NEXT, TOMMY, etc.  These steps in my life may have led me to start on my own brand AMBER BY ANUSHKA. It has been a remarkable success and experience since I started.  Amber by Anushka Bridal is becoming a well-known brand.

 2.   What can brides-to-be expect from Amber's bridal services? Why should a bride consider approaching Amber for her special day?
Each wedding is a unique and distinct event that reflects the wishes and dreams of the bride and groom. That is what my brand brings together - a wide range of products/ services – such as bridal dressing, bridal bouquets, bridal jewellery and the optimal services of jewellery rentals – all done under one roof. This is called a full bridal package. If a bride wishes to select one of the above services – that can be provided as well.  

Each bride or couple is personally met by me to design and plan each event or dressing to make sure that the bridal couple gets the wedding they dream of. What really excites me is working with strong confident modern women who want to stand out and express themselves on their wedding day, a fusion of the traditional but with trend setting designs for the modern bride.  Whether a bride decides on the rich reds and gold of Kandyan style, the simple elegance of an Indian sari or the western wedding dress, Amber by Anushka has the answer. Amber’s services are comprehensive and include dressing the bride, her maids, mother of bride, flower girls and little maids.

3.   Tell us about the jewellery collection available through Amber?  What is unique/special about the designs and services offered at Amber?
AMBER products are mainly for the "FASHION CONSCIOUS & THE DESIGNER MANIACS" who are sophisticated, confident and unique.  We cater to our brides based on their taste and budget. Some like dainty designs and others like more elaborate large statement jewellery designs.

All jewellery are plated and imitation, offered in a wide range – from pearl type of beads to gold, silver and white gold plated – with or without stones.

Usually for jewellery selection, we need at least four months before the wedding date to start on the process. If the bridal party comes and books us one year – six months before the wedding, we can custom design jewellery to match the bridal.
