They meet on the first and third Fridays of the month at the Kandy City Mission for an hour of singing classic and contemporary Christian songs, and to learn the importance and necessity of developing an attitude of worship in their lives.
Founded by Rohan and Shaila Samuel and under the stewardship of the Assembly of God Church, Kandy, Kachy Club has been meeting regularly for the last 8 years and has put up several musical productions over the years; their latest having been held last Saturday at the Trinity College Hall, Kandy.
Titled “All For Him”, the programme was labelled a ‘musical tribute’, and consisted of various contemporary Christian songs sung by members of the youth, with items by popular artists Matt Redman, Darlene Zschech, Don Moen, as well as modern versions of classical hymns.
The show also featured two moving dance items, including a special dance item to Kirk Franklin’s “Now Behold The Lamb” done entirely in sign language.
The evening was a great success, and was the perfect opportunity for the talented Christian youth of Kandy to both showcase their talents as well as to declare their faith in Christ.
