Mind Adventures presents A Play in a Day
On December 7, the Mind Adventures Theatre Company presents A Play in a Day, a play written, rehearsed and performed within the space of 24 hours. Mind Adventures will team up with Ruwanthie de Chickera of the Stages Theatre Group for this project.
The process will begin at 9pm on December 6 and the show will be staged by 8pm on December 7. It will be performed for one night only.
The 24 hour play is a relatively new concept that theatre companies overseas are staging with great success. As a theatre company that likes to stay up to date with global theatre practices, Mind Adventures will give the format a try as part of their activities as Artists’ in Residence at the British Council.
A Play in a Day will star Tehani Chitty, Arun Welandawe-Prematilleke, Ruvin de Silva and Vindhya Fernando, and will be written by Ruwanthie de Chickera and directed by Tracy Holsinger.
Interestingly, apart from selling tickets at the British Council Library, the Company plans to live video stream the rehearsal process so that audiences can truly experience how the show comes together within the 24 hour period.
